That's right! We're going to do a Friday night Score-O. There will be a mass start at 8:00 PM, so please arrive at 7:30 pm to check in. Also watch for details on the Facebook event. Mass start means that everyone starts at the same time. The race duration is 90 minutes meaning that you have 1 1/2 hours to find as many controls as possible and arrive back to the finish. Points will be deducted for those who arrive after 90 minutes.

Looks like it'll be a couple of days past the new moon phase for this event so it'll be pretty dark. If you've never orienteered at night, search the Internet for suggestions on equipment and strategy. A strong headlamp and spare headlamp or flashlight are recommended. So far, 21 controls have been plotted on the course with several in new locations.

The start/finish will be at the usual location.

Event Date: Friday, September 22

Start times: Mass start at 8:00 PM so arrive by 7:30 PM to register.

Map cost $10.00.

Results will be posted at the bottom of this page.

Meet director: Darren Stanger

Thanks to Bob Huebner who made a new map and expanded the area to the south.

Start Location: Directions to the Jordan River location.

The area is pretty level without much elevation. For some, an issue at the area is cheatgrass that burrow into socks and shoes. If you are bringing your dog, take preventative measures. For yourself, buy or build gaitors, bring duct tape to cover exposed mesh areas of your socks/shoes, or wear older socks/shoes. If using duct tape, be sure to not tape over bare skin.
